Aims/Objectives

Aims

1. To create, individually and in partnership, access to the arts for all prisoners ex-prisoners, young offenders and ex-young offenders in N.I

2. To investigate and research needs in this field.

3. To explore means of delivery and to develop models of good practice.


Objectives


1. To develop good working relationships with such organisations as the NI
Prison Service, PBNI, the Prison Education Departments, Prisoners organisations and the Prison Officers Association.

2. To establish a presence in all three NI prisons and the Young Offenders Centre.

3. To initiate work with ex-prisoners.

4. To set up an evaluation and monitoring system to ensure good practice by both prisoners and artists.

5. To provide prisoners with creative experiences of the highest attainable quality.

6. To ensure that at all times prisoners see themselves as having shared ownership of the project.

7. To develop a peer education scheme amongst prisoners and ex-prisoners.

8. To establish a clear and distinctive identity.

9. To address all feasible art forms

10. To build a bridge between prisoners and the arts community outside prison.

11. To provide a public platform for prison arts.
